Matthias Friedrich, responsible for Operations, Business Development and Customer Solutions at deecoob GmbH, will step down from his position as Managing Director at the end of September 2024 to pursue new opportunities outside the company.
Georg Oeller, member of the GEMA Executive Board, thanks him for his commitment: ‘Thanks to Matthias Friedrich, deecoob is an important partner for us in our core business. We are very grateful to Matthias for the development work he has done in this important area for us. With the new long-term strategy, we are setting the course to meet the future challenges in our markets. Our focus is more than ever on our core business. We want to make GEMA more transparent, faster and more efficient and position ourselves as a strong organisation. deecoob GmbH is an important building block here, particularly in order to efficiently utilise the excellent prospects in the national and international market. But this also requires structural changes, which we are now tackling with the reorganisation of deecoob.’
Matthias Friedrich has built up deecoob since 2016 and developed it into a unique data and service provider for the global music industry. He is now looking forward to a new role: ‘I have been a member of deecoob’s management team for eight years and have accompanied the company through an important phase. It has been a great honour for me to steer the fortunes of deecoob. I am proud of what we have achieved together and I am convinced that deecoob will continue on its successful course. Now I am looking forward to doing something different and reorganising myself. I would like to thank deecoob and all my colleagues for the exciting time and wish everyone an even more exciting future.’
Christian Seitz, Director LiVe AR (Licensing & Distribution of Performing Rights) at GEMA, is taking over as sole Managing Director on an interim basis. In the course of the replacement, the responsibilities of the management will be reorganised. ‘We are very grateful to Matthias, who together with Claudia Manicke has made deecoob what it is today: A unique data and service provider for the global collecting societies. We owe this to his passion and utmost commitment to the business and the customers. Furthermore, there is a great team behind deecoob and I am looking forward to gaining even deeper insights and driving the company forward together,’ says Christian Seitz.
